What's UCmore? Is it spyware?
UCmore is a search accelerator/manager that is fully integrated into your browser and optimizes searching and surfing sessions dramatically. It features
a "Results On-The-Fly!" concept which presents the most relevant information that is organized into categories that provide the best possible results from
a single search query.
UCmore, the Search Accelerator, is able to provide the insightful information via the UCmore categories by having information about the sites you visit
both sent to the UCmore server and storing the categories in your hard drive (cache). UCmore treats this information as privileged and never transfers
it to any other party. When pages are re-visited or when UCmore is deactivated, information about the sites you have visited is not re-communicated to
the UCmore server.
Does that mean UCmore is Spyware? The answer is NO. According to www.whatis.com:
... spyware is any technology that aids in gathering information about a person or organization without their knowledge. On the Internet, spyware is programming
that is put in someone's computer to secretly gather information about the user and relay it to advertisers or other interested parties. Spyware can get
in a computer as a software virus or as the result of installing a new program. Data collecting programs that are installed with the user's knowledge are
not, properly speaking, spyware, if the user fully understands what data is being collected and with whom it is being shared.
I'm running Ad-aware and it detects UCmore as spyware. You claim it is not spyware. Who should I believe?
Effective-i, the owner of UCmore, stands behind its guarantee that UCmore is not a spyware product.
The openness of the web, which allows any individual or company to air their opinions, in this case results in false claims being made against UCmore. Effective-i
is unable to get these claims removed from the web.
